Gowers rejects term extension Andrew Gowers has delivered a crushing blow to the music industry today by not recommending extending copyright term in sound recordings in his much anticipated Review........ http://www.musicweek.com/title.asp andrew gowers insists the current UK copyright law should stay as it is, in keeping with the rest of Europe, and has rejected proposals from the music industry to increase current 50 year copyright to 75 years....the BPI are about to mount a campaign to further increase the pressure on the Government to extend copyright term....just think, when Sen Drew is forty five years of age, her father's songs copyrights written in the early days of catcha will just be about to expire! unfair to the copyright owners wouldn't you say? I urge catcha fans to support the UK's BPI in their quest to extend copyright term for songwriters.......xx
